Multiple agencies are investigating the shooting, including the Union County Homicide Task Force and Elizabeth Police Department. A Wawa store in Elizabeth was closed for a shooting investigation Saturday, April 22.A man was shot in the knee after a fight broke out inside of the Spring Street store around 4:45 a.m., Elizabeth police spokeswoman Ruby Contreras said.He Early Monday afternoon, Elizabeth police officers responded to the area of Third Street and Broadway in the Elizabethport neighborhood, where they found Owens, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to the preliminary investigation.
